Upholstered Brick Chesterfield Sofa. Commissioned by St Werburghs Nursery School, Bristol, and Bristol City Council. The sofa was commissioned following an extensive community consultation exercise involving pupils and staff of the school, and also a successful fundraising strategy. The work forms part of the touch area of the "Senses Garden" funded in part by the Foundation for Sport and the Arts. The sofa is a much loved feature of the red brick Victorian school and has played its part in the development of the school.
Head Teacher Susan Danvers said “The Brick Sofa is a big hit with kids, they love it, they have had so much fun, its great for them to sit on if they are being read a story outside”.
